Closest thing to Twitter style

  • Damn it. It’s Pre-conventional –> conventional –> post-conventional. Wonder how I got it into my head that there wasn’t a post. I was debating over this one… Well, I think I did better than last time, but who knows? Doubt I got an A though. ;; Might end up taking the final at this rate… *5:32 – Nope, not an A. Definitely better than last time. Median range this time. Will have to take the final for any chance of an A in the class. Need an almost perfect score on the third exam and a score comparable to today’s exam.
  • Going to see whether there’s any film crit on prostitutes. Have an experiment to attend at 11 am.
  • Trying to find Film Comment Vol XXIII nr 3 (May-June 1987); p.25-32. Doesn’t seem like any of the UC campuses have a copy aside from UCLA. I’m not sure if it’s possible to request it. Wonder if I should ask a UCLA student to grab it for me. XD Seems to be titled differently from what’s listed in the nternational Index to Film/TV Periodicals. Odd, since I remember seeing it referenced as “Hooker” both there and in a Google books footnote. The IIPA has it labeled under “Working Girls.” (Jaehne, Karen)
  • Journal of British Cinema and Television Vol III nr 2 ( 2006); p.266-283 ~ Sounds interesting, but would it make sense to use an article about British Cinema and apply it to an American film. Other nations, etc. Different perspectives are nice, though I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to look at different cultures unless I plan on writing about cultural depictions of prostituti–that sounds kind of interesting, but would it be too broad? Couldn’t find this…
  • Wide Angle Vol V nr 1 (1982); p.28-33 ~ Looks like it’s actually available at the library! …Why am I looking it up again? “On the widespread use of sexual images, esp. the metaphor of prostitution, to describe the role of the scriptwriter.” I’m not sure how much I care about the scriptwriter, but I am not opposed to looking at articles on prostitution. …That sounds weird. UCB:Main – PN1993 .W5 Why is it marked 1993? Seems like a year…but the listing is under v1-v21 or something. Volume 21 is listed as having been published in 1999. …
  • Also, I think Christina’s sitting across from me. …But I don’t want to talk in a library. :|
  • Quarterly Review of Film and Video Vol XV nr 1 (Nov 1993); p.27-40 ~ …Cowboy prostitution? HOW INTRIGUING.
  • New Cinemas: Journal of Contemporary Film Vol V nr 2 ( 2007); p.167-173 ~ UK publication, but I need my prostitutes!
  • DAMN IT. UCLA HAS EVERYTHING. Stop mocking me. :(
  • …So hungry. Guess I’ll leave, buy something, and get ready to head toward Tolman.
  • Journal of Popular Film and Television Vol XII nr 4 (Winter 1984-85); p.148-155 ~ The business of sex: prostitution and capitalism in four recent American films. …Only found this because of UCLA. >>;;
  • Marked Women is a book? I thought it was an article. Hmm. …Damn you, whoever checked that book out. Hope it’s not someone in my class, hahaha. There’s an archival copy in the PFA? UCB:PFA-PN1995.9.P76 C36 2006; maybe I’ll try going tomorrow. *shrug* It’s only open from 1-5.

  1. good god. even though its “twitter” style, its still long! lawlllalwlawlawlwa.

    does your library not have that system where you can borrow books from other schools and they ship it to you? i deno if you’re supposed to pay or not though…

    hehe, 8 times you have used some form of the word prostitute :P

    • Just pretend it’s a feed from Loudtwitter. ;D If you tweet a lot in a day, the format is something like this.

      It does! It’s just that they are non-circulating copies or something, so I guess I can only access them by physically being at the library. :( I might email the film specialist or something and ask if he knows whether there’s some other way for me to get a hold of them. I’M BEING PUNISHED FOR DOING SOMETHING “AHEAD OF TIME”!

      …You counted? XDD
