I found out on Friday that the tax rose to 9.25% in San Jose! Sheesh, I can’t believe Berkeley’s tax is lower–wait, I should check. … …Nevermind, proportions are still about the same. Still .50% higher than San Jose. This increase makes me love Amazon even more than before. It’s like a cruel April Fools’ joke. Oh wait, this entry isn’t about taxes. On the bright side, my parents only buy a crap load of stuff at Target when they have a 10% off coupon, so it kind of counters taxes. Okay, shutting up about that now (too bad now I’m thinking about it a lot and want to read up on it since I haven’t taken an economics class since high school and don’t remember anything; my ignorance makes me very sad). Game Review: Persona 3 FES
Persona 3 FES bundles the original Persona 3 with extras. These extras include additional scenes, a new social link, new personas, weapon fusion, and an additional 30+ hours of gameplay in the form of a sequel titled “The Answer,” among others.
I’ll be reviewing this as a standalone rather than a comparison to the original Persona 3 game since I didn’t have the chance (and was too cheap) to purchase it the first time around; besides, I imagine that it’s practically the same.
WARNING: I don’t outright mention any spoilers, but I heavily imply something in the story category. It’s easy to figure out if you’ve heard things. Just avoid the *** section if you don’t want to be spoiled. (more…)

Game Review: My Word Coach
Intended for this to be longer than it is, but due to laptop shutting off…
“My Word Coach” is one among Ubisoft’s language learning games. Players spend approximately twenty to thirty minutes playing mini games to meet a daily objective of 150 words. The more games you play, the higher your EP or Expression Potential gets. If you’re at the level of an Elementary School Student, have no fear. Word Coach is here! And for the more language-inclined player who boasts an impressive mental dictionary, “My Word Coach” offers some surprises with its many entries from Cambridge’s Advanced Learner’s Dictionary. Game Review: Drawn to Life
![]()
Synopsis: In “Drawn to Life,” you are essentially God, otherwise known as “The Creator.” With your stylus, you created the world and its inhabitants, the Raposa. Somewhere along the line, you stopped interacting with these creatures and watched in silence.
Skip forward to the present storyline. Darkness engulfs the land and the population dwindles to fewer than the number of fingers on one hand. You are brought back into action one day when a young raposa girl named Mari asks for help. It turns out that sometime ago, a raposa named Wilfre scattered the pages in The Book of Life, resulting in a shortage of food, day, night, etc. (more…)

Game Review: Phoenix Wright, Trials and Tribulations
It’s that time again! After some number of months, Trials and Tribulations has finally been localized for the United States! But can this game redeem the series after the second game, which disappointed a number of players, myself included? My answer: yep.
Synopsis: Phoenix Wright’s story draws to a close in the third game of Capcom’s Ace Attorney series. In this installment, the past and present are united as you play as Mia in her rookie days and Phoenix Wright as he is now. Like with previous games, the main players return, including the silly Larry Butz. Loose ends are also tied up as we learn more about the Fey family and are introduced to Godot, a mysterious prosecutor set on defeating Phoenix in the court room. (more…)

OMG …cubed?
OMG #1 – AH, I HAVE A PAPER DUE ON WEDNESDAY and I keep changing my mind on what it’ll be about. I’ll force myself to stick to Sir Gawain and the Green Knight though. I’m thinking comparing the “courtship” of the Green Knight and Bertilac’s wife. Man, I’m making the story sound vaguely homosexual, aren’t I? (more…)

Game Review: Hotel Dusk Room 215
I borrowed this game from my cousin Shelley and finished it some time ago. She borrowed Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney from me. We have yet to re-exchange them. And that is the story of how I got to play it.
“Hotel Dusk: Room 215” takes place in a hotel by the same time. In this hotel are guests with stories of their own, with individual histories either connected or unconnected to the hotel itself. It’s not a particularly fancy establishment, but it’s a good representation of how the game is like. (more…)
