Trader Joe’s

Filed under: Uncategorized — unsquared @ 9:45 pm

Man, I’m slow at shopping, haha. First time I’ve ever been to Trader Joe’s and the aisles are as they say: spacious. The selection’s not as wide as I thought it’d be, but that’s probably because I’m unused to the layout so I didn’t look around as much as I thought. I saw a lot of frozen things though. No cream of corn, so no soup making this week.

Expenses

  • MULTI-GRAIN BREAD 2.29
  • ORGANIC STRAWBERRY SPREAD 2.69
  • TJ’S PREMIUM XSHARP CHEDDAR 3.54

Surprisingly, the non-organic (artificial?) strawberry spread costs more than the organic one. I’ll try to keep track of these things. Also, I learned last week that the student store’s sticky notes are cheaper than Walgreens’s. And here I thought student stores were made to rip you off!

Pushing Daisies, S1E1 - Pie-lette

Oh, wow. I’ve heard about it on Fandom Secrets, but didn’t expect to like it so much. Too bad it’s being canceled. Jeannie seemed interested in it too, after watching half of the episode. It’s a shame I introduced her to a show that she might not have the opportunity to watch until Monday, due to Internet problems. The story is pretty much a mix of romance, “mystery,” and adventure. Its main character? Ned, a piemaker. Yeah, pie. You know you gotta love it. Oh, and dead people. Pie and dead people. Kind of like Sweeney Todd on a superficial level of comparison, I guess?

Apparently Ned has the ability to bring people back to life for one minute without consequence; any longer and someone else in proximity will die in “exchange” for the living. What’s more, Ned absolutely cannot touch this now-living being or else said being will die. When he was young, he discovered he had this ability by accidentally killing both his mother and his friend Chuck’s (Charlotte) father. This makes Ned perfect as a sort of “detective.” He can communicate with the undead regarding how they died and such.

As for the romantic bit, it’s difficult for him to get into a physical relationship with anyone. Unfortunately for Ned, he winds up reviving Chuck…so he can never touch her again if he wants her to remain alive. It’s incredibly sweet to see how the relationship between Chuck and Ned will develop: Can love bloom between two people in a relationship devoid of touch? In a world where sex dominates, this is a rather original take! It’s rare to see shows that depict love so purely.

Oh crap, I missed Ugly Be–oh, they aren’t airing this week. Aw. :( Heyyy, there’s a poll function on Word Press now!

OMG PROCRASTINATING STRESSED

Filed under: Uncategorized — unsquared @ 2:26 am

I procrastinated on Wednesday and did not learn my lesson. I am procrastinating right now and just about two to three hours ago, was panicking and felt myself warning up. I was imagining some wrist slitting and dropping classes. o_o Okay, I think I’ll quit procrastinating when Monday classes are over. It’s too stressful. I believe you, Carol. I think I’ll have to skip a class though in order to end it. XD I’m gonna finish this English 1C paper during Poetry and Lunch, and work on the English 5A midterm in the morning…well, more like 3 hrs. XD I’ll sleep so I get some energy. Being awake for several hours makes it easier to stay awake. I’ll probably lose some pts because of my skipping Poetry, but well, I’d rather get a B in all three English classes than not finish my English 1C paper. ;; I can get it regraded, but I’d rather finish as much as I can before I turn it in. Besides, I won’t be prepared AT ALL if I go.

I intended to at least finish writing most of this paper, but I need to do 5A’s midterm. I won’t have very much on this second article… XD But I think I’m already at the minimum word count either way. Okay, time to sleep and wake up at 5:30 to take a shower.
